Midisoft Corporation (Nasdaq National Market:MIDI) today announced that its Play Piano 2.0 was awarded "Consumer Product of the Year" by the Washington Software & Digital Media Alliance ("WSDMA") at its annual Industry Achievement Awards banquet held on January 23, 1997. The Company also announced that its Sound Bar(TM) 1.0 was also nominated as "Consumer Product of the Year" by the WSDMA, joining Play Piano as a finalist in this category.

The WSDMA's "Rainie" Award symbolizes and salutes those products which represent the pinnacle of leading innovation from Washington-based companies in the software and digital media industries. Winners are determined by a panel of industry experts.

Midisoft's Play Piano 2.0 for Windows(R) 95 or Windows 3.1 turns a PC into a powerful piano tutor which analyzes the user's performance, provides a customized lesson plan and tracks the progress of one or more users over time. Midisoft's Play Piano features more than 400 music lessons prepared by the winner of the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition, as well as 40 traditional, rock 'n' roll, holiday and classical songs, including selections from the Beatles, Elton John and Cat Stevens.
